Altaris Cloud Privacy Notice

1. Introduction
Altaris Consulting, LLC, doing business as Altaris Cloud (“Altaris,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides software licensing services, licensing consulting, and related technology services. This Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you.
1.1 Scope
This Notice applies to personal information we collect:
- through our website, altariscloud.com (the “Site”), including our contact form;
- through our advertising on LinkedIn, including when you interact with our ads or submit a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form;
- when you communicate with us by email, phone, or video conference; and
- when you or your organization engage us for consulting services.
Our Site, advertising, and services are currently directed to individuals and organizations located in the United States. This Notice does not apply to information about our own employees or job applicants, which is handled under separate internal policies.
Where we provide services under a master services agreement, statement of work, nondisclosure agreement, or similar client contract that imposes stricter confidentiality or data-handling terms, that contract controls for the information it covers (see Section 6).
1.2 Updates to This Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Notice on the Site and revise the effective date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 What We Mean by “Personal Information”
In this Notice, “personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, or can reasonably be linked to an identified or identifiable individual. It does not include information that has been de-identified or aggregated so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to a person, or publicly available information as defined by applicable law.
2.2 Sources of Personal Information
We collect personal information:
- Directly from you, when you submit the Site contact form, email or call us, schedule a meeting, or work with us during an engagement;
- Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you visit the Site (see Section 5);
- From LinkedIn, when you submit a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form in response to one of our ads or interact with our LinkedIn page. Information you submit through a Lead Gen Form is collected by LinkedIn on its platform, under LinkedIn’s own privacy policy, before it is made available to us; and
- From your organization, when your employer or colleagues identify you as a point of contact for an actual or potential engagement.
2.3 Categories of Personal Information
The categories of personal information we collect are:

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information — such as government identification numbers, precise geolocation, health information, or biometric data — through the Site, and we ask that you not submit it through our contact form.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- respond to inquiries and follow up on leads generated through the Site or our LinkedIn advertising;
- provide, manage, and improve our consulting services and administer client engagements;
- send communications about our services, which you may opt out of at any time;
- measure the performance of our advertising, understand how visitors use the Site, and show our ads on LinkedIn to audiences likely to be interested in our services, including people who previously visited the Site;
- operate, secure, and maintain the Site and our systems, including detecting and preventing fraud or misuse; and
- comply with legal, contractual, and regulatory obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect our legal rights.
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. If we intend to use personal information for a purpose materially different from those described above, we will update this Notice first.
4. How We Share Personal Information
We share personal information only as described in this section, including with our advertising and analytics partners as explained in Section 4.2.
4.1 Service Providers
We share information with service providers that support our business — such as our website and domain hosting, email, scheduling, and analytics providers — under the standard terms of service each provider requires. These providers process information to deliver their services to us.
4.2 Advertising and Analytics Partners
We use Google Analytics and the LinkedIn Insight Tag on the Site. These tools disclose information about your visit — such as pages viewed, links or buttons clicked, referring page, IP address, device and browser information, and the time of your visit — to Google and LinkedIn for advertising measurement, and we share Site visit data with LinkedIn to build advertising audiences for retargeting in future campaigns. Some state privacy laws treat this as a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for “targeted advertising,” and you have the right to opt out — see Section 5.2 and Section 9.
4.3 Professional Advisors
We share information with professional advisors, such as our accountants or attorneys, when needed for accounting, audit, legal, or insurance purposes.
4.4 Legal and Regulatory Disclosures
We may disclose information to government or legal authorities if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Altaris, our clients, or others.
4.5 Business Transfers
If Altaris is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred to the buyer or successor, subject to the commitments in this Notice.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
5.1 What We Use
- Essential cookies. Cookies required for the Site to function properly and securely.
- Google Analytics. Helps us understand how visitors use the Site — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and visitors’ general (city-level) location based on IP address.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag. Measures whether our LinkedIn ads lead to Site visits and helps build audiences for retargeting in future LinkedIn campaigns. You can review LinkedIn’s privacy practices at linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
These tools may place cookies on your device and may share limited data with Google, LinkedIn, and their related providers under their own privacy terms.
5.2 Your Choices
You can:
- adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies (turning off cookies may limit some features of the Site);
- opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout;
- manage how LinkedIn uses your information for advertising through your LinkedIn account settings; and
- email us at [email protected] to ask that we not use your information for marketing.
5.3 Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals
The Site recognizes universal opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or device sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising for that browser and device. Because these signals operate on a per-browser, per-device basis, you may need to enable them on each browser you use. The Site does not respond to older “Do Not Track” browser settings; please use the choices described above instead.
6. Client Engagement Information
When we provide services under a client agreement, we often receive or access information belonging to the client — including contact information for client personnel and business data that may contain personal information. We use that information only to perform the engagement and as the client agreement allows. Where a master services agreement, statement of work, nondisclosure agreement, or similar contract sets stricter confidentiality, use, or retention terms than this Notice, the contract controls.
If you are a client’s employee or representative and have questions about information your organization shared with us, we may refer your request to your organization, consistent with our contractual obligations.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. No system or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce risk and to respond quickly if an issue arises.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice:
- Inquiry and lead information: for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and support our marketing and sales efforts, unless you ask us to delete it sooner;
- Client engagement information: for as long as required by the applicable client agreement, our business records policies, and legal or contractual retention requirements; and
- Device and usage information: according to the retention settings of our analytics and advertising tools.
When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it in accordance with our practices and applicable law.
9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
9.1 Your Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- to confirm whether we process your personal information and to access a copy of it;
- to correct inaccurate personal information;
- to delete personal information, subject to exceptions allowed by law;
- to receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format; and
- to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, or certain profiling.
We will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or otherwise retaliate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
9.2 How to Submit a Request
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] or use the contact form on the Site. Please describe your request and tell us the state where you live. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request — typically by matching information you provide against information we already have, such as confirming you control the email address associated with your inquiry. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf if the agent provides proof of authorization and we can verify your identity.
9.3 Our Response and Your Right to Appeal
We will respond within the time required by applicable law — generally 45 days, which some laws allow us to extend once when reasonably necessary, in which case we will tell you. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request Appeal.” We will respond to your appeal within the time applicable law requires. If we deny your appeal, you may have the right to contact your state attorney general; contact information for state attorneys general is available from the National Association of Attorneys General at naag.org.
9.4 International Visitors
Because our advertising and client base are currently limited to the United States, we do not extend rights under international privacy laws, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation, at this time. If we later expand our advertising or client base outside the United States, we will update this Notice to reflect any additional rights that then apply.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site and our services are intended for business audiences and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-Party Sites and Services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, and our advertising appears on LinkedIn’s platform. We do not control third parties and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Information you provide directly to LinkedIn — including through a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form — is governed by LinkedIn’s privacy policy; this Notice applies to that information once we receive it. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you use.
12. Where We Process Information
Altaris is based in the United States, and our advertising and services are currently directed to individuals and organizations located in the United States. Information we collect is stored and processed in the United States, including by service providers operating here. If we expand our advertising or client base to other countries in the future, we will update this section to describe any additional cross-border data practices.
